Usage (Installation)
The installation of a sanitary metal tube rotor flowmeter requires completing 12 steps.
- 1. Cleaning upBefore installing the flowmeter, it is necessary to clean up the welding slag and debris inside the pipeline;
- 2. CorrectionThe upright part of the flowmeter should be installed perpendicular to the ground at an inclination of no more than 5 degrees Otherwise, it will affect the measurement accuracy.
- 3. LocationIn order to ensure the measurement accuracy of the flowmeter, a straight pipe section of not less than 10xDN should be added at the inlet end of the flowmeter, and a straight pipe section of not less than 5xDN should be added at the outlet end. The regulating control valve should be installed downstream of the flowmeter during measurement.
- 4. Model numberIf the measured medium is a large pulsating flow or two-phase flow, a buffer should be installed upstream of the flowmeter to reduce pulsation and ensure that the flow of the medium is single-phase stable. At the same time, it is recommended to use a damping type flowmeter.
- 5. Measuring mediumWhen the measuring medium is dirty or contains magnetic particles, it is recommended to install a filter or magnetic filter upstream of the flowmeter.
- 6. SupportThe installation of the flow meter should be able to appropriately support the vibration of the pipeline or reduce the axial load of the flow meter, otherwise additional support for the fixed flow meter should be added.
- 7. MaintenanceFor the convenience of maintenance and repair of flow meters, cleaning of magnetic filters, and regular maintenance of user pipelines, it is recommended to use bypass pipelines as shown in the figure.
- 8. StableWhen a flowmeter is used for gas measurement, it should be ensured that the working pressure inside the pipeline is not less than 5 times the pressure loss of the flowmeter, so that the flowmeter can operate stably and normally.
- 9. WiringBefore using electric remote transmission and flow meters with alarm limit switches, open the instrument cover and correctly wire them according to the wiring diagram.
- 10. Obstructive componentAccording to the warning sign on the instrument indicator, remove the blocking component that prevents float vibration during transportation, restore it, and then use the instrument again.
- 11. Turn on the flow meterIf the flowmeter is turned on, due to the lack of pressure in the pipeline or the system not reaching the working pressure for normal use of the instrument, slowly open the control valve until the system is normal before the instrument can be used. Otherwise, it is easy to cause pointer jumping or sudden impact of the float, which may damage the instrument.
- 12. User usageWhen using, if the density of the measured fluid is different from that of water, or if the parameters and working conditions of the measured gas are different from those specified by the manufacturer, the reading of the flowmeter should be converted. The conversion method is shown in the appendix.
